Teh European Commission and the European parliament give high priority to the implementation and enforcement of European Environmental Law.

Definition: The conference will deal with the implementation and enforcement of European environmental policy and legislation in practice and is therefore of special interest for experts. officials and practitioners in the field of transposition, implementation, application (e.g. permitting), inspection and enforcement of European Environmental Legislation, working for national, regional and local authorities. The conference is proposed to be held in september 2012, in one of the EU-Member States. Participants from all the EU Member States, from the Accession Countries, Candidate Countries, Norway and from European Commission as well as from other European Networks dealing with similar issues will be invited. The programme of the conference should be worked out by a Preparatory Committee. This Preparatory Committee will start its work in the second half of 2010 and will continue its work until the execution of the Conference.

Participants: About 200 participants are expected, coming from the European Commission and from national and regional government authorities in the EU Member States, the Accession Countris, Candidate Countries, Norway as well as the leaders of the IMPEL partner networks in Europe.
