Exploring different approaches in Member States with regard to issuing IPPC-permits in relation with national targets under the NEC-directive.

This project is in line with the following IMPEL strategic goals outlined in the multi annual work programme:

II Improving methodologies

Efficient and more effective work with an emphasis on the prioritising, programming and planning of inspections, permitting, environmental reporting and the development of enforcement indicators with special regards to the key legislative area of IMPEL.

III Development of good practices

Learning from each other and showing results of our work, in particular for the inspection and permitting processes and procedures, e.g. through seminars, comparison programmes and workshops and development of recommendations.

V Providing feedback to policy makers

It will also assist in the aim to “continue the activity of providing feedback to the Commission or EU Institutions on better legislation issues, gathering information on experience of implementing EU legislation”.

Definition: The project will be undertaken through the use of a questionnaire, a desk based review and by holding a workshop.

Participants: Experts from IMPEL Member countries and the European Commission
